On Thursday 12 December, a group of pupils from Years 7, 8 and 9 were invited to express their creativity and take part in a wreath making workshop, an experience kindly funded by the Maria Holland and St Joseph’s Charity. Pupils decorated their wreaths with foliage, pinecones, berries and ribbon, creating beautiful pieces. The circular shape of the wreath represents eternity and God’s unending love. The evergreen branches symbolise everlasting life and hope during winter. Hanging a wreath on the door is seen as an invitation for Christ and the Christmas spirit to enter the home. Pupils were able to take their impressive creations away with them at the end to proudly display at home during the festive period. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by all. A big thank you to Maria Holland and St Joseph’s Charity, with special mention to Mr A. Fingelton from the charity for championing this event and Newgate Nurseries for your kind donations. Also, thank you to our staff; Mr Chester, Mrs White, Mrs Watson and Ms Rogerson for making this activity possible.
