Careers in Business
On Wednesday 4th December, 60 of our Year 9 pupils visited UCLan to take part in an Access to Careers Day focused on Business.
Pupils took part in an activity where they took on the roll of stock market investors, and based on news events and market intelligence had to decide which commodity or business to buy or sell. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed this activity and the winning teams from each session were awarded a box of chocolates! This activity gave our pupils an insight into the world of business and where a degree in business could take them in the future.
The other session of the day was hosted by Future U, who took the pupils through a number of activities which got them thinking about their personalities and future educational and careers pathways. This really gave our pupils some food for thought ahead of making their Option choices later this year, and this will be also be a focus on their next Extended Learning Day
