U16 Lancashire Basketball Champions

On Monday evening our Under 16 boys’ basketball team took part in the final of the Lancashire Schools Basketball Cup held at Myerscough College. Our boys’ skills, determination and teamwork were apparent throughout the game as we came away with a 92 – 60 win.

Maxwell Hill had a fantastic game as did Theo Westwood, who was named our Most Valuable Player. We are very proud of the whole team, how they conducted themselves and their excellent achievement. This is not the first time that this group of boys have been crowned Lancashire Schools champions. Two years ago, they won the Under 14 Lancashire Schools Basketball Cup, so to gain the title for a second time is particularly impressive.

As Under 16 Lancashire champions, our boys will now represent their county in the English Schools competition, competing against other county winners. Our next game will be an away fixture against Didsbury High School in Manchester, with the date still to be confirmed.
