Year 8 Castlerigg

Last week, two groups of Year 8 pupils, 91 in total, enjoyed a three day retreat at Castlerigg led by the Metanoia Project and Corpus Christi staff. The theme was “Step Up!”, based on the passage in Luke’s Gospel where Jesus meets the tax collector, Zacchaeus. The retreat invited everyone to explore the deep love that Jesus has for each one of us, calling us by name and inviting us to take time away from the things that crowd our lives and distract us. We all took part in a time of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, singing songs together and reflecting on the call God has for each of us. The times spent in small groups allowed us to journey closer to one another, create new friendships, and deepen old ones.
