Il Cenacolo

Il Cenacolo (pronounced: eel-chen-ak-o-lo) is the name of one of Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous paintings, better known as ‘The Last Supper’. He painted it on the wall of the refectory in the Church and Convent of Santa Maria del Grazie, in Milan, Italy. We are proud to use Il Cenacolo as the name of our school refectory.

II Cenacolo is a place where our students can enjoy a well-balanced meal at an affordable price, knowing that only fresh high-quality ingredients have been used.

We offer a full in-house catering service, serving at three key times; before school pupils are able to purchase food and a drink, at break service where pupils may buy freshly prepared breakfast goods and lunchtime where there is a wide choice of nutritious items on offer.

Our lunchtime service is ever evolving to suit the needs of our pupils. Our menus run on a 4-week cycle (which can be viewed at the bottom of this page) and are developed in accordance with seasonality of ingredients. Pupils can choose their lunch from:

• a fresh pasta bar offering a vegetarian and meat option daily;
• a sandwich bar where the sandwiches and barmcakes are freshly prepared, as well as a soup of the day;
• a hot counter that serves a selection of hot paninis, filled jacket potatoes and another dish that varies each day (a meat and vegetarian option) made by our in-house chef.

We benefit from having our own baker who produces all of our cakes on site, meaning our baked goods are always fresh and delicious for pupils, staff and visitors to enjoy.

We follow the School Foods Standards Practice and all of our lunchtime options are school compliant, healthy choices.

We offer excellent value meal deals priced at £2.70; You can choose any main meal (sandwich, pasta, panini, jacket, burger or homemade meal) with a cake, yoghurt, piece of fruit, juice carton, milkshake or plain water. Items can be purchased individually but a cake can only be bought with a meal.

Nut-Free School

We are proud to be a nut-free school. Our catering staff omit nut products from all food items produced on-site. We ask that pupils do not bring any nut-based products into school in order to protect others with nut allergies.
