Amazingly, through the generosity of the Corpus Christi community of staff, pupils, parents and governors, we have raised a massive £10,000 for charity in the three school years since the pandemic. We have supported six fantastic local and international causes during the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent in this time: Metanoia Project’s Homeless Drop-In, Mary’s Meals, Storybook Dads, Mercy Ships, Derian House and CAFOD.
As a school, we focus on the corporal works of mercy, clothe the naked and quench the thirsty, for example, as a basis to choose charities to fundraise for. These are very practical ways of loving and serving others in the way Jesus loves. Thank you especially to the heads of house, for encouraging pupils to get involved with running market stalls and to staff and pupils who have organized after school events like I’m A Teacher and Corpus Got Talent, to raise as much money as possible for charity.
