Advent Fundraising for Derian House

A visitor from Derian House Children’s Hospice, Ann-Marie Fishwick, came to visit our school to thank us for our fundraising efforts during Advent. Some of our Faith in Action bronze award pupils presented her with a cheque for £1376.41, and asked her questions all about the work of Derian House. She told them about the fact that it is not a sad place, but a very joyful one, filled with an emphasis of love and how each and every person’s life is invaluably important. The pupils showed great interest and asked conscientious questions. Ann-Marie told us that the amount of money we raised will be used to send a family on a holiday, which could be a family’s last chance to go away all together.
