All pupils had the opportunity to enjoy a special Christmas lunch prepared by our school catering staff in Il Cenacolo restaurant during Wednesday lunchtime. Diners enjoyed a raffle with the usual crackers, hats and jokes. Everyone was served a delicious roast turkey dinner with potatoes, veg and their favourite ‘pigs in blankets’. There was also a drink and a Christmas decorative cup-cake to complement the hot and tasty Christmas lunch ceating a real festive spirit.
A party atmosphere was very evident throughout all Year bubble sittings, with party hats, abundant false moustaches and singing along to the background Christmas themed music! Various staff volunteered to waiter for all the sittings.
Dining together, Y7 pupils Holly Jackson and Riley Cummins both gave the Christmas lunch a thumbs-up. Holly describing the festive meal as being better than the one she gets at home!
Year 7 pupil Courtney Oliver, proudly donning her Christmas hat and enjoying her cup-cake commented ‘I really enjoyed the meal, I thought it was delightful, festive and delicious’. A traditional raffle with prizes concluded lunch for each sitting.
Deputy Headteacher Mr Botes said he was again very impressed with all pupils throughout all five lunch sittings, especially their manners that had plenty of please and thank you’s to serving staff.
School Business Manager, Mrs Wallace said: ‘Our Christmas lunch has been quite a challenge this year, providing five individual ‘bubble’ sittings, but with military precision, especially by the catering team, the festive lunch was again a resounding success and a hot and tasty Christmas lunch was enjoyed by all.’
A special mention and compliments to our catering team from all our teaching and support staff for the superb Christmas meal – very tasty! All pupils again really appreciated the hard work by the catering staff that goes into providing the Christmas lunch.
