Christmas Parcels for Senior Citizens
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we are unable to host our usual Christmas party for senior citizens. Instead, we decided to show the residents of local care homes that they are in our thoughts by gifting ‘Christmas Parcels’.
We have been collecting donations from pupils, their families and our staff during the last few weeks. Catering for both ladies and gentlemen, gifts included scarves, socks, toiletries chocolates and drinks.
Our House Captains from Years 9, 10 and 11 and their deputies have been busy collating and wrapping the presents after school last week. On Thursday 12th December, accompanied by Mr Warham, the fifteen pupils carried the presents to nearby care home, Springfield Manor Gardens and delivered the gifts (at a distance) to delighted residents of Springfield Manor Gardens care home. One lady opened her present to find a purple scarf which she seemed over the moon with.
Our pupils brought some festive cheer by singing a verse of ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ and left the bags of remaining presents to be dispatched and enjoyed by the ladies and gentlemen.
