We are delighted to announce that Corpus Christi Catholic High School has been officially awarded the Race Equality and Religion and Belief Equality Badges as part of the Lancashire Equality and Inclusion Mark. This prestigious recognition follows a recent accreditation visit which highlighted our school’s unwavering commitment to fostering a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment where diversity is celebrated. The award reflects the dedication of our leaders, staff, and pupils in ensuring that equality and inclusion remain a central focus of our daily lives.

During the visit, assessors were particularly impressed by how our principles are meaningfully lived and experienced by pupils on a daily basis, including through the positive impact of our annual cultural days. Our pupils spoke with immense pride about sharing their heritage with others, reporting that they feel they have “no fear” within our school community. Furthermore, our thoughtfully designed curriculum was recognised for its role in promoting empathy and shared values, perfectly aligning with our school motto, “Together in one body”. The school’s pastoral system, including the buddy system, was also noted as an area of strong practice that strengthens our pupils’ sense of belonging while supporting those who are new to the English language and culture to flourish socially.
The Lancashire Equality and Inclusion Mark celebrates schools that provide an excellent example of inclusive practice and we are incredibly proud that our work reflects the values at the heart of this recognition.
