Over 40 pupils were recognised for their active service to others in the local and wider community on Monday evening, as they were presented with their Faith in Action awards. This award is administered by the Catholic Youth Ministry Federation (CYMFED) and is designed to recognise, reward and celebrate the active faith and service of young people. With the support of our Chaplaincy team and RE staff, they have pushed themselves and made a difference in the lives of others. They received their awards alongside other young people who had achieved differing levels of the award (Pin, Bronze, Silver and Gold) through their work with the Metanoia Project, including a number of former pupils.
The ceremony took place at St Wilfrid’s, Preston, and the awards were presented by the Bishop of Lancaster, Bishop Paul Swarbrick and the Chair of the Diocese of Lancaster Youth Service Management Group, Paul Briers. Bishop Paul praised the work that the young people had done towards their awards and advised them to do their best, and the ‘miracles will look after themselves.’
We are now aiming to complete the ‘Pin’ level of the award with our new year 7 pupils, whilst encouraging other pupils to achieve the higher levels of the award, which is supported by an extra-curricular club. Any pupils in years 9-11 who are interested in the award should speak to their RE teacher or any member of the Chaplaincy team.
The following pupils, past and present, received the following awards:

|Melisa Polizzy Carbonelli
