The United Kingdom Maths Trust (UKMT) runs nationwide mathematics competitions that encourage mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. On the 26 April, pupils in 81E and 71E took part in the Junior Maths Challenge. All pupils were awarded with participation certificates. The following pupils in Year 7 gained bronze certificates: Logan, Joe, Lily, Stanislaw, Jeremiah, Charlie, Joel, Waiel and Bartosz. A special mention to Charlie Stoney in Year 7 who gained a silver certificate and achieved the “Best In Year” award. Bronze certificates were awarded to Year 8 pupils: Darren, Shona, Bartosz, Olga and Muhammad. Another special mention to Kian Panchal and Reece Kay in Year 8 for gaining a silver certificate, with Reece Kay achieving the “Best in School” award. Well done to all pupils that took part.
