Last Thursday, 12 of our Year 10 pupils had the exciting opportunity to visit Stonyhurst College for a day dedicated to exploring the cross-curricular nature of mathematics.
The day began with a fascinating tour of the historic libraries, followed by a lively historical quiz that challenged pupils to apply mathematical problem solving. Pupils also had the chance to get hands-on by constructing models of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in DT.
The highlight of the day was a captivating keynote speech by Rob Eastaway, bestselling author of Much Ado About Numbers. He delved into the surprising ways Shakespeare used mathematics in his work and offered insights into the role of numbers in Elizabethan England.
It was an enjoyable experience for all involved.
