On Monday 29 November, 45 pupils from Year 9 and five staff set off on their journey to The Outward Bound Trust Education Centre in Aberdovey, Wales for a week of adventurous activities. On arrival at the centre, pupils were split into four groups, introduced to their instructors and provided with all the essential clothing and kit for the week. Developing the personal life skills of organisation, resilience, teamwork and overcoming challenges was the theme for the week, which continually tested the pupils and pushed them to their limits. Pupils took part in gorge walking, mountain climbing, scrambling, jetty jumping, canoeing, problem solving, beach exploring and raft building. Our group finished the week by planting trees, to help the environment around the centre, and will hopefully have the opportunity to return one day and see how they have grown. Pupils developed incredibly well throughout the week, showing perseverance, humility and kindness to one another as they completed activities.
