Our annual GCSE Presentation Evening took place on Thursday of last week to congratulate and celebrate the achievements of last year’s leavers, whose results were the best in our school’s history. This year’s event was hosted in St. Vincent’s Hall, with a record attendance of nearly 500 guests, comprising of former pupils, their families, staff and governors. The audience were welcomed by Mr Warham before our pupils were presented with certificates, subject prizes and awards recognising their success. Following the presentation, staff and parents lined the hallway to Il Cenacolo, creating a guard of honour to congratulate our worthy winners.
The most prestigious awards went to Krish Amaresan, whose outstanding GCSE results saw him receive the Bishop Foley Cup for academic excellence, whilst Temis Cerros received the Michael McDermott Memorial Cup for excellence in the face of significant adversity. Monica Dean deservedly received the Basil McGowan Shield, for excellent involvement in school life whilst Gracie Dancey’s steely determination to succeed in her studies was recognised with the Canon Taylor shield for academic endeavour. Finally, the Head Boy and Head Girl, Amin Fahd and Maria Keating were also recognised for their contributions to and on behalf of their year group.
