The Feast of Corpus Christi

On Friday 16 June we celebrated our school feast day. On this feast day in the Roman Catholic Church, it is tradition to have a Eucharistic procession, displaying the blessed sacrament for all to see. Pupils from Years 7 to 10 supported Fr. Stephen, our school’s chaplain, to take the Eucharist around school blessing all the classrooms and offices. The pupil choir sang liturgical music as the procession made its way around the school and all pupils reverently stood as the Eucharist passed by their classrooms. The chapel was decorated with a traditional ‘flower petal carpet’ designed and created by pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9. During lunchtime, all pupils enjoyed a feast day ice cream to mark the celebration.
