During Lent this year, all three houses will be supporting the charity ‘Mary’s Meals’. Our appeal, organised by school chaplains Ruth and Joe, will encourage pupils to support and participate in events that will take place over the next few weeks and raise money for Mary’s Meals. The charity provides one good nutritious meal every day to some of the world’s poorest. Every penny counts as just eight pence will feed a child at a school for a day and £15.90 will feed a child at school for a year. They work across numerous countries and currently feed over two million children every school day. Their work is named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, who brought up her own child in poverty. Mary’s Meals respects and reaches out to people of all faiths and of none.
Alongside Mary’s Meals, we will also be responding to the immediate situation in the Ukraine by collecting essential items for those in need. Ideas for donations can be seen below:
